Why You’ll Love This Recipe

I’ve tested these blueberry yogurt parfaits with a homemade blueberry compote, but I actually prefer them with fresh blueberries and a drizzle of honey instead. It keeps it light and simple, and the crunchy granola adds the perfect texture.

Four ingredients and five minutes, can’t get any better than that! I love a good no cook recipe, and you know how much I love Greek yogurt since I use it in so many of my recipes!

They’re perfect for breakfast, brunch, a snack, or even a light dessert. You can meal prep them for busy mornings and customize them with your favorite fruit, granola, and yogurt.

Ingredients

Blueberry Parfait Ingredients.
  • Greek yogurt: I use plain Greek yogurt, but vanilla works too if you like a little extra sweetness. Regular yogurt works too, but will give you a slightly runny texture.
  • Blueberries: Fresh blueberries are best, especially when they’re in season. Not in season? You can use frozen blueberries! I recommend thawing and draining them first.
  • Honey: Just a drizzle to add natural sweetness to each layer. You can swap it for pure maple syrup if you prefer.
  • Granola: Use your favorite store-bought granola or make a batch of my favorite homemade Almond Vanilla Granola. For a gluten-free option, choose a certified gluten-free granola or leave it out.

🥕 Nicole’s Tips for the Perfect Parfaits

  • Use clear glasses or jars: It makes the layers of yogurt, blueberries, and granola look so pretty, especially if you’re hosting a brunch.
  • Drizzle honey over the blueberries: This adds sweetness in every bite and keeps the flavor balanced.
  • Use homemade granola when you can: It gives you the best flavor and crunch, and you can control exactly what goes into it. I usually make these with my Almond Vanilla Granola, but my Apple Cinnamon Granola or Pumpkin Spice Granola are great seasonal options too.

Variations

  • Switch up the fruit: Try mixed berries, diced peaches, cherries, or even mango for a different flavor.
  • Make them dairy-free: Swap the Greek yogurt for your favorite dairy-free yogurt and granola.
  • Add your favorite toppings: I love adding a sprinkle of mini chocolate chips over the yogurt layers. You can also add chopped nuts or dried coconut.
  • Add lemon zest: Stir a little lemon zest into the yogurt for a bright flavor. Lemon and blueberries pair perfectly together.
  • Drizzle nut butter: You can add a drizzle of almond butter or peanut butter on top for even more flavor.

Make Ahead and Storage

You can prep these parfaits up to 2 days in advance. Layer the yogurt, blueberries, and honey in jars, then cover and refrigerate. Wait to add the granola until just before serving so it stays crunchy.

Leftovers (without granola) will keep in an airtight container for 1–2 days in the fridge. If the granola is already mixed in, it may soften, but the parfaits will still taste great.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ’s)

Can I use frozen berries?

Yes! Frozen blueberries work well too, especially if you’re assembling the parfaits ahead of time. Just know they’ll release a bit of juice as they thaw, which can tint the yogurt and soften the granola. For the best texture, thaw and drain them first.

Can I use regular yogurt?

I prefer my parfait with Greek yogurt because it’s thick, creamy, and high in protein, but yes, you can also use regular yogurt or a dairy-free option instead. Just note that the texture and sweetness will vary.

What if my blueberries aren’t sweet?

If your blueberries are a little tart or not as sweet as you’d like, just add a touch more honey when layering your parfait. You can also stir a bit of honey or maple syrup directly into the berries and let them sit for a few minutes before layering.
