The flavors and textures in here are amazing. You can enjoy them all year long, since they have easy-to-find ingredients. My favorite time to eat them is in the summer with fresh tomatoes from the garden or farmer's market.

Love sliders as much as I do? Try these Hawaiian Roll Chicken Parm Sliders. Have extra bacon? (Who are we kidding? Is extra bacon even a thing?) Make this Bagel BLT Sandwich.
Ingredients
You can make these sandwiches with just 5 simple and fresh ingredients.
- Hawaiian Sweet Rolls: Lightly toasted Hawaiian Sweet Rolls make the perfect bread for these sliders. You could substitute for your favorite slider buns or dinner rolls.
- Mayonnaise: Use your favorite mayo, like regular, light mayo, olive oil mayo, or avocado oil mayo.
- Lettuce: For the best crunch, use crispy green leaf lettuce. I love Little Leaf Farms. You could substitute for iceberg or romaine. They'll still be crisp but not as flavorful. Other lettuce substitutions are kale, spinach, or arugula.
- Tomato: Cut a couple of small, ripe tomatoes into 12 slices. You could use tomatoes on the vine, heirloom tomatoes, or Roma tomatoes.
- Bacon: Use your favorite regular or thick-cut bacon. I like to use uncured applewood-smoked bacon, but you can substitute for your favorite kind. Turkey bacon is also a great option to lighten it up.

How to Make BLT Sliders
- Preheat the oven to 350°F. Slice the Hawaiian rolls in half lengthwise with a serrated knife to create a top and bottom for the sandwiches. Leave them connected together so you'll have 2 slabs. Place the slabs, cut side up, on a large baking sheet. Bake for 6-8 minutes until lightly toasted.
- Spread the mayonnaise on the cut side of both slabs. Place the bottom slab on a large cutting board. Layer the lettuce, tomato slices, and bacon. Place the top slab on top. Cut the sandwiches along the seams using the serrated knife to create 12 sliders.
- Serve and enjoy!
Expert Tip: When layering the BLT ingredients, be sure the juicy tomatoes are not touching the bread. I like to layer the lettuce on the bottom and the bacon on top, leaving the tomatoes in the middle. This will prevent them from getting soggy! It also helps to lightly toast the bread before spreading the mayo.
Variations
- Add cheese. Sliced cheddar, pepper jack, muenster, American, or even provolone. You can add it to the top half of the rolls right after it's toasted and pop it back in the oven for a minute or two until it's nice and melty.
- Swap out the mayo. Swap out the regular mayo for your favorite variety, like chipotle mayo. Other great spreads you could use are honey mustard, garlic aioli, or tzatziki.
- Top them with more sandwich add-ins. Pile on your favorite sandwich toppings like sliced avocado, sliced red onion, dill pickle chips, or caramelized onions.
- Add more meat. Grilled chicken, shredded chicken, or sliced deli turkey are great options for adding more meat.
Serving Suggestions
I could eat these BLT Sliders for just about any meal. They're light, fresh, and so easy to make. They're perfect for a busy weeknight dinner with super fresh and juicy tomatoes, especially during the summer.
Are you hosting or attending a brunch or lunch? Make these! They'll be a hit. They're also great as an appetizer for game day, summer BBQs, or any kind of party, from baby showers to garden parties.
Make Ahead and Storage
Make Ahead: These sandwiches are best served immediately, so I recommend making them at most a couple of hours in advance. You can prep the bacon a day or two ahead of time, though!
If you assemble the sandwiches too far in advance, the bread could become soggy, and the texture of the tomatoes change when refrigerated to become mushy and mealy.
To Store: If you have leftovers, store them in the refrigerator in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
How to Cook the Best Bacon
I love to cook bacon in the oven. It's the easiest way to make it and it cooks evenly every time. If you like to pan fry it, you can totally do that, too!
To bake bacon:
- Preheat the oven to 375°F. Line a large baking sheet with foil for easy cleanup.
- Place an oven-safe metal cooling rack on top of the foil-lined baking sheet. This allows for airflow. Lay the bacon strips on the rack and bake for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway, until desired crispiness.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's)
Great BLT sandwich add-ins include cheese, avocado, pickles, onion, deli turkey, and grilled chicken.
Though mayo is a classic BLT ingredient, you could substitute it for honey mustard, tzatziki, garlic aioli, or guacamole.
Nobody likes a soggy sandwich! To prevent a BLT from getting soggy, toast the bread. Also, be sure the juicy tomatoes are in the middle, sandwiching them between the lettuce and bacon.
