    Why You'll Love This Recipe

This creamy cilantro dressing is bursting with flavor! It's easy to make and super customizable to your own tastes.

I love homemade salad dressings so much more than store-bought! They come together in just 5 minutes and have so much more flavor. You can tailor them to your own taste and you know exactly what's in it.

My favorite way to serve this dressing is over these Sweet Potato Taco Bowls. If you're looking for a dairy free cilantro dressing, try this Cilantro Lime Vinaigrette.

    Ingredients

    • Cilantro: Fresh cilantro is the main ingredient in this dressing.
    • Garlic: Fresh or jarred minced garlic. It's not recommended to use garlic powder or dried minced garlic.
    • Lime: Fresh lime juice is the perfect pairing for cilantro. Be sure to use fresh to make it tangy and bright.
    • Honey: Either honey or pure maple syrup, to sweeten the dressing.
    • Greek Yogurt: 0% fat plain greek yogurt.
    • Olive Oil: A good quality extra virgin olive oil is the base for this dressing.
    • Sea Salt: To bring out all the flavors.

How to Make Creamy Cilantro Lime Dressing

    1. Place the cilantro, minced garlic, lime juice, honey and greek yogurt in a small food processor or blender. Season with sea salt. Pulse to combine. Slowly pour in the olive oil and process until smooth and combined.
    2. Taste and adjust sea salt, as needed. Serve immediately with your favorite recipe, or refrigerate for up to 3 days in an air tight container.

Expert Tip: Use fresh cilantro and freshly squeezed lime juice in this recipe. Dried cilantro won't have the same flavor and bottled lime juice won't taste as fresh and tangy.

    Variations

    • Make it extra creamy. Add a tablespoon or two more of greek yogurt. Alternatively you could add a tablespoon of mayonnaise or sour cream to the dressing to make it even creamier.
    • Add some spice. Add a minced jalapeño for a spicy kick.
    • Make it vegan. Use vegan yogurt and substitute the honey for pure maple syrup.

Feel free to experiment with different ingredients and flavors to create your own unique yogurt cilantro lime dressing variation!

    Serving Suggestions

These are some of my favorite ways to use this dressing!

    • Salad: Drizzle the dressing over a green salad, or use it as a dressing for a taco salad or southwestern-style salad.
    • Tacos: Use it as a topping for fish, chicken, or vegetarian tacos.
    • Grilled meats: Use it as a marinade for grilled chicken, steak, or shrimp, or serve it as a dipping sauce for grilled meats.
    • Vegetables: Serve the dressing as a dip for raw veggies, or drizzle it over roasted or grilled vegetables.
    • Grain bowls: Use the dressing as a sauce for grain bowls, such as quinoa bowls or rice bowls, with grilled or roasted veggies, beans, and other toppings.
    • Sandwiches: Spread on sandwiches and wraps in place of mayonnaise or your favorite condiment.

    Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's)

How long does yogurt cilantro lime dressing last in the fridge?

Yogurt Cilantro Lime Dressing can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

Can I use regular yogurt instead of Greek yogurt?

Yes you can use regular yogurt, but keep in mind that it is thinner and less tangy than Greek yogurt, so the dressing may be less thick and flavorful.

Can I adjust the amount of lime juice or cilantro?

Yes, you can adjust the amount of lime juice or cilantro to your own taste preferences. Add more or less depending on how tangy or cilantro-flavored you want the dressing to be.
