  • Chicken Tenders: Boneless, skinless chicken tenders. You can slice chicken breasts into strips if you don’t have tenders.
  • Panko Breadcrumbs: Use panko breadcrumbs to make them extra crispy.
  • Everything Bagel Seasoning: Homemade or store-bought everything bagel seasoning. You can typically find it in the spice aisle of most grocery stores.
  • Egg: To bind the breading mixture to the chicken.
  • Olive Oil Spray: Spraying the baking sheet and the tops of the chicken tenders helps them crisp up and get a nice golden color.

Variations

  • Lightly pan-fry. Heat 1 tablespoon of extra virgin oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Place the chicken in the skillet in a single layer. You may need to cook them in batches. Cook for 5-6 minutes on each side or until cooked through.
  • Air fry. Prepare the same as baking them in the oven. Heat the air fryer to 400°F. Place the tenders in a single layer and air fry for 8-10 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden and cooked through.
  • Add Parmesan. Make them a little cheesy by stirring in a tablespoon or 2 of grated parmesan cheese into the breadcrumb mixture.
  • Give them a kick. Add some spice by mixing in a splash of hot sauce into the egg. Or you could sprinkle some crushed red pepper into the breadcrumb mixture.

Make Ahead and Storage

Make Ahead: I don’t recommend making these ahead of time. They only take a few minutes to prep and are extra crispy when served immediately.

To Store: Store leftover chicken in an airtight container for up to 3 days.

To Reheat: For crispy tenders, reheat in a hot oven, toaster oven, or air fryer. Heating in a microwave will make them soggy.
