These air fryer french bread pizzas are super customizable. You can add your favorite toppings and even get the kids involved with a make your own pizza night. Have them add their favorite toppings before you pop them in the air fryer.
No air fryer? No problem! You can bake these in the oven. See the recipe notes below.
Ingredients
French Baguette: Use your favorite french baguette. I like to get mine from a local bakery.
Olive Oil: Extra Virgin Olive Oil or whatever type of olive oil you prefer to brush on the tops of the french bread. I like Delallo Extra Virgin Olive Oil.
Marinara: To make it easy, I use jarred marinara sauce, however you could always use homemade if you prefer! Either marinara or pizza sauce is great on these pizzas.
Cheese: Shredded mozzarella cheese.
Your Favorite Toppings: You can make these plain, or add your favorite toppings (like pepperoni, onions, or peppers) before popping them in the air fryer.

Step-By-Step Instructions
- Preheat the air fryer and cut the french bread. Preheat the air fryer to 380°F for 5 minutes. Cut the french bread in half evenly lengthwise. Cut each portion in half to create 4 pieces. Lightly brush the top of each piece with olive oil.
- Toast the bread in the air fryer. Place the french bread in the air fryer, cut side up, and cook for 1 ½ minutes until slightly toasted (you may need to do this in 2 batches depending on the size of your air fryer).
- Add the toppings. Divide the marinara sauce among the 4 toasted pieces and spread out evenly. Top each with mozzarella, then finish with desired toppings. Place back in the air fryer, and cook for 2 minutes, or until cheese is melted. Repeat with remaining pieces.
- Serve. Cut into smaller pieces (if desired), top with your favorite garnishes, serve and enjoy!
Note: To bake in the oven, preheat oven to 425°F. Prepare the bread as directed, then place on a baking sheet. Bake for 3 minutes or until slightly toasted. Add the sauce, cheese, and toppings. Bake for an additional 4-5 minutes or until cheese is melted.
Variations
I love how customizable pizza is, just add your favorite toppings! These are the best french bread pizza toppings:
Meat: pepperoni, salami, chicken, bacon, sausage, ham
Veggies: mushrooms, onions, peppers, tomatoes, spinach, olives, banana peppers, jalapeños
Garnishes: fresh basil, red pepper flakes, grated parmesan cheese
Note: I recommend sautéing any toppings that need to be cooked before putting them on the pizza. (for example, chicken, bacon, sausage, mushrooms, and onions)
Serving Suggestions
These can be served for lunch, dinner or even an afternoon snack. Cut them into smaller pieces and they would make a great party or game day appetizer.
If you have any leftover, you can reheat them or enjoy them cold. They're great to pop in the kids' lunchboxes for a fun leftover lunch.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's)
Not necessarily. Most air fryers do not need to be preheated. If you have a preheat option on your air fryer, then you should preheat it. I do not have a preheat button on mine, but I like to preheat it to ensure quick and even cooking.
You can keep leftover french bread pizza in an air tight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. You can reheat in a preheated oven or toaster oven at 350°F for 7-8 minutes, or until heated through. You can also reheat in the air fryer at 325°F for 3 minutes or until heated through.
