Description

Homemade Cinnamon Applesauce is made with just 4 ingredients in the slow cooker. It’s easy to make and is much more flavorful than store-bought.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 medium apples (peeled, cored, and sliced)
  • 1 tablespoon pure maple syrup or honey
  • 2 teaspoons lemon juice
  • 3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Place the apple slices in the slow cooker. Add the maple syrup or honey, lemon juice, and ground cinnamon. Gently stir to combine.
  2. Cook on low for 6 hours or high for 3 hours, stirring occasionally, until apples are tender.
  3. Blend until your desired consistency using an immersion blender. Serve it warm or refrigerate it for later in an airtight container.

Notes

Use a variety of apples for the best flavor. I like to use a mix of Fuji, Honeycrisp, and Granny Smith.

Cook times may vary depending on the variety of apple you choose. Some varieties take longer to soften while cooking.

Add a splash of water as needed to help add steam to soften the apples.

To store, refrigerate in an airtight container for up to 1 week.
