In a small saucepan, heat oil over medium heat. Add the flour and whisk constantly until combined, about 30 seconds to 1 minute.

Slowly whisk in the broth until smooth. Whisk in the spices and tomato paste until combined. Simmer, stirring occasionally, for 12 minutes or until desired consistency.
